Coda was my first album on streaming after a couple years of producing music. When I started out, I mainly made sampled instrumental Hip-Hop beats. Some of my obvious influences include J-Dilla and Nujabes. I grew up listening to them and wanted to emulate them in my work.
My current opinion on the album is always changing. I can appreciate what it meant to me to make -- it was my first completed work and some of my favorite beats I've made are on it. Overall, I think it's decently cohesive and was really fun to make.
This is what most of my friends say is their favorite album, and I can see the appeal. Although it isn't one that I really revisit anymore.
I hope you can find some enjoyment out of it!
Dance With Me! was my transition into original compositions, and was the tape that got me to appreciate electronic music more (eventually becoming my favorite genre to produce).
I actually produced this entire album in one week during my winter break from college. I had downloaded Frank Dukes' VST, The Cradle, and used it to produce most of the album. It's a great synth that I recommend to anyone who likes to produce electronica, but I don't find myself using it much anymore.
This is my personal favorite body of work I've made! I feel like I learned a lot from making this and made some of my favorite songs on here. I always pictured people relaxing to this album, or maybe falling asleep to it.
If you listen to this one, I'm very grateful to you!
